Dubai Unveils 2030 Water and Green Spaces Roadmap

Dubai has unveiled a long-term roadmap to significantly expand water and green spaces across the emirate through projects valued at more than AED 4 billion (USD 1.09 billion). The initiative forms part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing quality of life, urban sustainability, and climate resilience by 2030.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, reviewed the Water and Green Spaces Roadmap 2030, launched by Dubai Municipality to reinforce the emirate’s leadership as a sustainable global city that leverages nature to enhance human wellbeing.

Launched during the World Governments Summit 2026, the roadmap aims to strengthen Dubai’s pioneering ecosystem of water and green spaces and achieve a comprehensive balance between water bodies, beaches, public green areas, facilities, and parks. It also focuses on preserving biodiversity and developing recycled resource systems within an integrated and resilient urban framework.

The roadmap positions Dubai as a global benchmark in urban sustainability and quality of life, providing a more balanced, harmonious, and people-centric urban environment that meets the needs of residents.

By 2030, the Water and Green Spaces Roadmap is set to reshape residents’ daily experiences in Dubai by transforming nature into an active component of the city’s infrastructure and improving access to parks, sports facilities, coastlines, and beach destinations.
