Reports indicate that the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed on Tuesday that fully autonomous taxis will begin operating on the streets of Dubai next month, following the successful completion of digital mapping for the Jumeirah 1 area.
This announcement coincided with the launch of the third edition of the Dubai World Autonomous Mobility Conference at the Dubai World Trade Center, the first event of its kind in the Middle East. On the opening day of the conference, winners of the Dubai World Autonomous Mobility Challenge were honored, with this edition focusing specifically on autonomous buses.
