The deposit-to-loan surplus for three major UAE banks—First Abu Dhabi Bank, Emirates NBD, and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank—exceeded AED 500 billion by the end of Q1 2024, according to the banks’ financial data.
Across 14 UAE banks, the total deposit-to-loan surplus reached AED 680 billion, with total deposits of AED 2.61 trillion and loans totaling AED 1.93 trillion.
First Abu Dhabi Bank led the trio with a surplus of AED 295 billion, followed by Emirates NBD at AED 151.8 billion, and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank with AED 65.5 billion.
This highlights the strong liquidity position of UAE banks and their ability to support further lending and investment opportunities in the financial sector.
